I am in the process of changing all of our pcs over to Win 7 x64 and Office 2013.
I have a certain excel workbook file that was in 2003 format.
I opened it and saved it as a macro enabled Excel 2013 file while logged on to the pc in remote desktop.
It has 377 pages in the workbook and is 1.7mb.
I have went through the file and taken out unneccary row, etc to make it as small as possible.
The machine is running Win 7 64 bit and is a new install with SP1 and all updates installed.
AMD Athlon II X4 640 at 3.00ghz
4 gb ram
Office 2013 is installed and all updates applied.
This one certain file will not open if the user is logged in locally.
I logged on through remote desktop to check the problem and the file opens normally.
I thought it was a problem with the local user's profile, so setup a Test user.
File will not open in a local session, but will open in a remote desktop session.
We have other files with similar sheet counts and size that open just fine locally.
Some of them are even larger at 10-15 mb or so.
I have run the list of safe mode, etc, quick repair, full repair, creating the other user profile.
I have went through every page in the file to make sure there are no old fonts, formatting, etc.
Kind of at a loss where it will open in a remote session, just not in the local one.
I have 3 other PC's with new setup and this one file behaves the same on all.
The machine is on a network, but not part of a domain.
When trying to open locally, it appears to be loading, then flashes "Excel has encountered a problem." No error number, then just shuts down on click continue.
Let me know of any other information needed.
