I want to display a date as 01/01/2014 in Excel and I want this date to display identically across excel versions, on different computers, regardless of the Region and Language settings on those machines. Also the cell where the date is displayed MUST ALWAYS be in the "Date" format mode. Is this possible?
I tried this with region and language settings on my computer set to English (United Kingdom)and the date displays as 01/01/2014 (DD/MM/YYYY) which is how I want it. However, when I change the region and language setting to English (United States) the display changes to 1/1/2014 (D/M/YYYY).
What I need is a solution that will display the dates as DD/MM/YYYY regardless of the region and language setting on a particular computer. This is a requirement of the client I'm working for and I wonder if this is at all possible...
One more thing; before submitting the current work to the client the formula "=date(2014,1,1)" (ignore the quotes, please) needs to be removed and the date displayed has to be copied and pasted as a "Value".
Thank you taking the trouble to look at this post
