Drop down not appearing

I created a drop down in excel 2010 and then I saved the file and send it across to other users. For some it is ok but for others the drop box cells looks just like any ordinary cell with no nodrop box. the version used is again 2010 excel. secondly if I use excel 2007 is ither any patch or any thing I can see the drop down in excel 2007 also.
