Excel 2007: program crashes and freezes when pulling a file from a Users folder on a NAS server

Hello,

I have a curious problem.

Basically I have a brand new Dell R620 server with Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard installed and is deployed as a Terminal Server and Microsoft Office 2007. We also have a NAS server that I use as storage for all of my 1200 users profiles on that are assigned to desktops on my 6 TS farm via GPO (each server has 128 GB's of memory). Well this server is outside of the normal farm since I'm using it for a memory intense server for a Anaylitics program called Qlikview and I didn't want the TS farm's load balancer to pop users onto the server since this program is memory intensive and I just want select users to be on it.

Well now that you have a run down of our systems, basically when a user opens there profile which sucks their roaming profile from the NAS server everything propagates correctly however when they click on their users folder that is mapped automatically from the NAS server and click on a particular folder that has say a excel document, Excel opens but then it just says on the bottom "Contacting O:\[file name] for more information." and then the program freezes and crashes. Please note this doesn't happen on the TS servers within the TS farm, it's only affecting this server.

Has anyone ever run into a similar problem like this in the past. I'm hoping it's a simple fix.

Hopefully I'm putting this question in the right section.
