Power Pivot Installation

I'm using Office 365, on Win 7 Pro and Win 8.1 Pro PCs, and want to use the Power Pivot add-in. I understand that it will not work with Office 365.

If I get stand-alone versions of Excel 2013 and install it on my Win 7 and Win 8.1 Pro PC, will Power Pivot then work?

Should I delete Office 365 Excel? Win 7 PCs are solid state and very fast, Win 8.1 Pro PCs are not.
