Hello Everyone!
I need to distinctly count a list of city names in a column in Excel. The column contains a whole bunch of city names which may be repeated any number of times within the rows of the column. I need to count only one time the name appears and leave out the repetitions. I use the following Excel formula for doing so, but there's only one problem with it. I can't use a "Named Range" within the formula. I created a Named Range for the column and tried putting it in the formula but it wouldn't work. Can anyone please help me with this ? I'm using Excel 2013.
FORMULA:
=SUM(IFERROR(1/IF($A$1:$A$9<>"", FREQUENCY(IF(EXACT($A$1:$A$9, TRANSPOSE($A$1:$A$9)), MATCH(ROW($A$1:$A$9), ROW($A$1:$A$9)), ""), MATCH(ROW($A$1:$A$9), ROW($A$1:$A$9))), 0), 0)); in column A1 of the worksheet, for example
Appreciate all help.
