Hi all. Recently I have faced the problem which I unable to solve. The problem is: I have a customer who uses Office 2007.

One day he told me that he can`t open one of his working excel files by doubleclick. I recommended to him try to open the file with File-Open – it works.

Asked him about other excel files. Can he open it or not? And we find out that he can`t open only the files with .xls extension and only when he doubleclicks on it. It doesn`t matter where the file is – on the desktop, from email messages or in a folder.

The customer uses Vista and his pc is a part of a domain, which sharing drive D.

Just in case I have ignored another applications that use DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) feature, but it gave no effect. The excel window is opens (by doubleclick) but the file doesn`t load, only the gray background. The uninstall and reinstall Office did not help. I should note that after the reinstall the admin account has no problem with xls files, but account of the user has, although it has all admin rights.

What is cause the doubleclick not to work, and what can I do about it? Any clues appreciated.
