Saving an excel spreadsheet to a network location fails with error 701743 “‘***.xls’ cannot be found. Check your spelling, or try a different path.” Clicking OK then brings up error 101799 “Excel cannot save the file to this location. To save the changes and avoid losing data etc”, the spreadsheet then saves to the network location along with a .tmp file.
We have checked permissions, deleted and recreated the network share, repaired & reinstalled Office 2010, unchecked ‘remove personal information from file properties’, checked the office14\XLSTART folder for anything to delete (there wasn’t anything) and also unchecked ‘Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)’.
