Copy/Sort question

Here's the scenario:

Sheet1 has a column with about 5000 part numbers, so does sheet2 but the part numbers are slightly different.

for example:

Sheet1, A1 has 5LES6030 & Sheet2, A1 has 5LES6030AA.

Is there a formula I can put in Sheet1, B2 to copy the data from Sheet2, A1 if it contains the same characters as whats in A1 on sheet1?
