If you have an Excel data source file with two large data sets and you want to create two independent connections to them in a second file, are there limitations?
1. Is there are maximum number of fields, for example? If I create one connection (173 fields), no problem. If I try to create a second connection to the other database (174 fields) MS Query stops. When I reach the last step, clicking Finish has no effect. Both queries are from File1 to File2, just to different databases in those two files.
2. Data Connection Wizard - can the wizard be used against XLSM files? When I try it I get the error "Data Connection Wizard coannot obtain a list of databases from the specified data source." If I change the source file to an XLSX there is no problem.
