My scenario is that I have three brand new towers at my business, all HP Compaq Pro 6300 MT, with Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1. When I create a pivot table and start filling in the checkboxes to the right of the workbook, it immediately displays a blue screen error
and restarts the system.
This happens with only very large Excel spreadsheets, but works properly on every other model computer at my business. I've tried repairing, running Excel in safe mode, all available Windows updates are installed, all add-ins are disabled, I've removed
the antivirus, I've rolled back the graphics and chipset drivers...I'm really at a loss right now. I contacted HP support and they told me to contact Microsoft. I've even gone as far as trying a new mouse and keyboard. Every time the blue screen
creates a dump file it references a different driver. Here's the latest.
Bug check string: REFERENCE_BY_POINTER
Bug check code: 0x00000018
Caused by driver: rdprefmp.sys
Caused by address: rdprefmp.sys+56abb60
Crash address: ntoskrnl.exe+75c40
The driver is the RDP Reflector Driver Miniport, but I can't disable that because RDP is necessary for employees.
Please help.
