This only happens when using Excel 2010 on my Terminal Server, not when run on a local laptop.
When I open a 1200 row spreadsheet and do a search for a value it is as quick as one is used to in Excel. However, if you do a Sort on a column and then repeat the same search it can take up to about 10 seconds to find the same value. You can physically see the cells cycling in the Name box.
I have tried all sorts of options, whole workbook, sheet, match case, entire contents etc. None of these seem to make a difference.
To recap, if you open the spreadsheet fresh and do a search it is instant, sort a column and rerun the same search it takes upwards of 10 seconds.
I feel perhaps it is a behind the scenes index thing but not sure
