Back in 2003, the Microsoft developers create a library called xlrecalc.dll that had a COM object: XlRecalcBlock.Connect.
This dll would allow for a user when they clicked back into an excel (from another app having focus) while it was recalculating, it would go right and display and push the calc back as it does when you click in a cell when excel is activated already. If you did not have this library, when click into excel (from another app having focus) and excel is recalculating...the screen blanks out white and it pauses until the calc is done.
I'm sure the library does other things...
The library file is xlrecalc.dll and the file details are:
File Description: Excel97 Recalculation Reentrancy Block
File Version 1.0.l15.0
Product Name: xlrecalc
Product Version 1.0
Date Modified: 2/26/2003
Size: 41.0 kb
anyways....this patch is still used today for Excel 2010 32-bit. But it does not work for 64-bit.
How does one go about asking for this to work in 64-bit land ?
