I have recently purchased Office 2013 Home and Business with the intention of using the Excel 2013 module for BI related development in SQL Server 2012. Having installed this software, I now note (from the forums) that PowerPivot is not implemented in the Home and Business version. Whilst the packaging did not alert me to this fact or the fact that I should purchase the Pro or enterprise editions, i believe that it is unreasonable to require me to fork out a further $500 for the Pro version or $300 pa for the Office 365 subscription! I would be prepareed to pay for an Excel 2013 Pro module only but doubt that this is available. I know that I am not alone in discovering this issue after the purchase and activation of the product.
Does any member know of a fix to this other than a subscription to Office 365 or a purchase of Office 2013 Pro Plus?
