Feature request: More prominent location for "engineering notation"

I have been a satisfied user of MS Excel for many years now, both professionally and at home (currently working with Office Professional 2007 at work and Office Professional 2010 at home), but one thing keeps bugging me: The scientific notation is nice to use as an engineer, but it is not very intuitive given that engineering units work in multiples of 1000 (nanometer, micrometer, millimeter, meter, kilometer for example) and the scientific notation works in multiples of 10.

I know there is a notation option to get what I want (##0.0E+0), but it is well hidden in the custom notation section. I am a bit surprised that it does not have a more prominent location, for instance under the pull down menu in the ribbon, given that I have yet to meet an engineer that does NOT use Excel!

So please consider this a feature request: please add the engineering location mentioned above to the pull down menu. I am sure it has been asked before, but I cannot find proof of such a feature request. Thank you for your attention!
