PowerPivot is unable to load the Data Model

I'm running Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013.  In Excel, whenever I try clicking on the "Manage" button in the PowerPivot tab, I get the following errors:
"We couldn't load the Data Model.  This may be because the Data Model in this workbook is damaged."
"PowerPivot is unable to load the Data Model."

When I try clicking on the PowerPivot Settings, I get the following error:
"We couldn't load the PowerPivot add-in.  First try Office Repair to fix this issue.  The error below should help if that doesn't work.  Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I have tried the following to troubleshoot this issue:
Reboot the computer
Repair Microsoft Office
Uninstall and Reinstall Office
I followed the steps in this link (including installing the hotfix):   http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_excel_support_team_blog/archive/2013/08/27/powerpivot-for-excel-2013-error-when-opening-the-manage-window-quot-we-couldn-t-load-the-data-model-this-may-be-because-the-data-model-in-this-workgroup-is-damaged-quot.aspx

I get the same error even if I open Excel on a fresh reboot and open a new blank workbook.

Any help would be appreciated.
