Multiline text in cell is truncated in print preview and after printing.

Hello,

When there is multi-line text inside a cell (many lines separated by new line char, and not just one line wrapped by excel itself), in some conditions some of this text is not visible on print preview and it is not printed.

I use Excel 2010 on Windows 7 64bit, but also observed on windows XP and Excel 2010.

Printer type does not play any role in it, it is observed on print preview whatever the printer, also when printing to XPS or PDF format. It is not page brake related problem, issue is present even if only one cell is printed (without any page brakes or scaling).

I can easily reproduce this behavior by following steps.

  1. open new workbook.
  2. in cell A1 type 8 lines of text separated by Alt+Enter char. copying multi line text from notepad also works.
  3. set for this cell font Calibri size 10.
  4. set borders for this cell.
  5. check print preview: text does not fit the cell, part of 1st line is not printed.
  6. set font size to 11.

  7. check print preview: text fits in the cell.

This issue is connected to font size in Excel and also to font scaling in Windows. When I change text size in control panel to 125% this issue is no longer observed with cell font size set to 10, but it is observed with font size 8.

The last thing is that Global settings for Excel default font size should be 11 (those are default settings in my excel). If default font size in excel is set to 10 and font size in cell is 11, reversed situation is observed - cell is too big on print preview.

For me it looks like bug in Excel, maybe not big, but really annoying one.
