I want to create a formula that searches a spreadsheet for any rows that have a given word in column 'C'. I then want it to create the sum of a value from a different column for all those qualifying rows.

I am wondering if this is possible in Excel 2010

I want to create a formula that searches a spreadsheet for any rows that have a given word in column 'C'. I then want it to create the sum of a value from a different column for all those qualifying rows.

My plain English version of the formula.

Ex: TURTLES!

If any rows in the spreadsheet have the word "Snapping" in Column 'C' then the value from Column 'G' (weight) in any applicable rows will be summed together. This will then provide me with the sum weight of all snapping turtles in the spreadsheet.

Thanks!
