SSAS Connection with Excel 2013 Office Home & Business

Hi guys,

a customer of mine tries to connect to SSAS with Excel 2013 Office Home & Business version. The connection works fine and data are retrieved, but it has a performance issue: every time he tries to refresh data seems that cube metadata are locally processed and stored and this task takes lots of time. With previous versions of Excel (2007 and 2010) there were no performance issues.

Could you confirm me that Excel 2013 Office Home & Business works in this way.

Knowing that Power Pivot is available only for Office Professional Plus and 365 ProPlus Editions, is there another way to archive this task with better performance on Office 2013 Home & Business ?
