I have a user who is having a problem where Excel is not allowing files to open. I am receiving "Cannot use object linking and embedding". A quick search brings me to the answer of checking the DCOMCNFG settings. I do and while there is only one of the two settings in there, I can't remember both of them off the top of my head, it is set to launch as local. After I click "OK" on there, I am prompted with another error "Microsoft Office cannot verify the license for this application. A repair attempt failed or was canceled by the user. The application will now shut down." Of course, this leads to Excel shutting down. In Outlook, when I try to open an attachment, nothing will happen. So, I have looked into this issue and although I haven't found a solid reason as to why, whenever I open IE the issues go away. Excel files open fine, no errors, and outlook will open attachments without a hiccup. I have set IE as a startup application to resolve this issue for now, but my user does not want IE to open every time they log in. So, this is just a Band-Aid. Is there anything that I can do to resolve this issue without opening IE every morning? I also have repaired Office 2010 multiple times. He is on the company domain, as a normal AD user (no admin rights), and this problem does not follow him to other machines.
Office 2010;
Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.17126;
Windows 7 64-bit
Thank you for any help!
