I have been using Access since it was first created but never encountered this problem before so I'm thinking its got something to do with the OS. I added password protection to one of my workbooks and the password itself works fine. I am able
to log in and view the file just fine. The problem comes when I try to do work or copy the file. I spent an hour entering data and making updates to the spreadsheet and I customarily save my work about every 10 minutes. Then when I exited
the spreadsheet hitting save one more time for good measure I was completely disappointed to find that none of my changes had been saved. The file on the hard drive still had yesterday's date on it and after opening it I saw that none of my work had
been saved. One hour completely lost. I did all of the work again and this time used "Save AS" and saved it in a different folder. That worked and I thought I had the problem solved. However, I then moved the file to the original
folder thinking it would overwrite the original file. After successfully moving the file I then opened it and sure enough, I was looking at the old file and the original data again. Now 2 hours of my life wasted. I guess the only way to handle
this is to save to a new folder every time. Then delete the old version and then copy the file, ensure it copies correctly, then delete the temporary version. Its really only about 5 minutes of extra work which is nothing when you are talking about
losing 2 hours but it seems like a pretty serious bug that could cause a lot of people some major headaches.
