Pivot Chart category axis as value axis

Hi experts,

Is there any way in Excel 2010 pivot charts to plot numeric 'categories' along the x-axis by their values - similar to a scatter plot with lines.  My categories are elapsed times (real numbers) and i would like to show the data as an x-y plot.  I like the features that come with Pivot Charts - filters, slicers, easily switching categories, etc - but the categories always come out equally spaced.   Under Format Axis \ Axis Type there are options for Text or Date but not for Value.  I tried Date type but it did not work.
