When certain files are saved using Excel 2010 to the My Documents folder, they cannot be found by using the Open button within Excel 2010. But the file is always found using My Computer and following the path to My Documents. What is even odder is that if I do a "Save As" within Excel and rename the file to the same name but with a "!" at the beginning of the name, it will then show up in the Excel Open window. There doesn't seem to be a distinct pattern as to when the file can or cannot be displayed by the Excel Open button.
I am using Windows 7 64bit along with Office 2010 64bit. Windows has current service packs and updates. There are perhaps 200 - 400 Excel files in the My documents folder. Some of them are .XLS and some are .XLSX.
