We use Analysis Services to open a Cude for management information.
I'm trying to connect to a Analysis Services 2008 using Microsoft Excel 2010, but when i put the "Server name" and the user and Password, it appears the following error: "An error was encountered in the transport layer"
When I click OK (only option) we get "Errors in the OLE DB provider. An error occurred while loading the connection dialog box component for prompting."
Using google, I found that this problem is could be due to SP2 of Office 2010, so I uninstalled SP2 on one of our Citrix servers. After reinstalling the AS2008 drivers this suddenly worked again. I think it is a bug in SP2 but I cannot find any patch for this. Should I really uninstall SP2 of Office 2010 bacause there is no patch for this problem, we need the management information.
I can uninstall SP2 on one or more Citrix servers and use these servers for collecting the data but we want to be up with all updates and patches.
Anyone who knows if there is a (private) patch?
