We have a huge (~50MB) Excel Workbook that was created in Excel 2003. This thing has close to 20 sheets that link back and forth like crazy, its almost out of columns in one tab, and it even uses an OBDC connection to a different app. Well, when we try and open this in Excel 2010 we get the message: "Office has detected a problem with this file. Editing it may harm your computer. Click for more details." When I click there, it brings me to an area where I can enable editing. I click that and it tries to reopen the workbook. It locks up at around 38% every time. I've already turn the Macro Security way down and unchecked everything in the Trust Center under Protected View. So if anyone can help me with finding out what problems Excel is having with this workbook and how to open it in 2010 I would greatly appreciated it.
