Excel 2010 Pivot - Conditional Format - "All Cells Showing" - converts to range when file closed

I am having to reapply my conditional formatting to lots of pivot tables every time I update my report.

I am correctly selecting the column in the pivot table only so the formatting is within the pivot table not the worksheet.

When the source data was changed the conditional formatting range was not changing.

To fix this I changed my conditional format rules so they apply to "All Cells Containing" instead of a range.

When I refresh the pivot and check the rule it is fine and still applies to all cells containing but when I close the file and reopen it all the rules have converted to apply to a range so when I update my data source the formatting range is wrong again.

Please help.
