unable to open .xlsx from email

Hi ,after saving the .xlsx file from mail, when i click to open, the file will not open in ms excel, as though i have installed Office 7 in the system, the file tends to open in open office by default, can there be any issue causing for this . can the file could be opened in ms excel itself ?
