Hi, I received an excel file through Windows Live Mail and opened it with Excel 2010. Rather than save as, I just did save. I worked on the file for three hours and hit save a few times. When I went to attach it to the person for updates, it was not there. I have thoroughly searched my laptop for it, and can't find it. Also, after working on it, I should have been prompted if I want to save the changes, I would think. I have looked in appdata , temp folders, made sure I could see hidden files, etc., Where does Excel 2010 put a file by default if you don't chose save as. My AutoRecover file location is set to: C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\ but it isn't there. Save Autorecover is set for every 10 minutes. Default location is : C:\Users\User\Documents, but it is not there either.
I duplicated this problem by getting another excel file sent, (that had never been on my laptop), opened it, saved it and I can't find it either.
