I have an excel file on a shared drive that is being accessed by two users. One is on Office 2010 and the other on Office 2013. The file is saved on
Windows Server 2008 SP2. When one user opens the file, there is no temporary excel file created. Both users are able to edit the file simultaneously and save it. I would think that the file should be opened read-only by the second user to open it, but this
doesn't appear to be the case. If I copy the file and save it locally and then open it, the temporary file is created. Is there something I can do to prevent two users from being able to edit the file simultaneously?
Thanks.
